    Article summary

The Loss Tree application in Factory Operate provides a detailed view of equipment losses, showcasing key metrics such as the total number of stops, total downtime, total uptime, and equipment-related information like MTBF.   The Loss Tree provides all necessary data for daily shift and line team meetings.

    Top Losses and Drill Down

By selecting your machine from the machine navigation menu, you can access a list of all equipment downtime (or availability loss) categories.

Equipment losses are presented by default for the Current Production Day time range.

Loss information consists of the following detail:
    1. Summary information for Equipment Availability Loss including Scheduled Time, Downtime, Uptime, Number of Stops, and MTBF
    2. Loss breakdown details such as Loss Type, Failure Mode, and Failure Mode Cause.  This allows you to view at a glance, the top Failure Modes and Failure Mode Causes occurring at the selected machine.

You can modify this time range and select from a couple of preset options, or specify a Custom Time Range.

    Drill Down

You can further drill-down into each Loss category and see individual Downtimes, by clicking on the left column.

    Synchronization with Downtimes

The Loss Tree offers a dynamic perspective of losses and is perfectly synchronized with the Downtime application.  This means that when Operators and Line team members input Downtime information and add context, the Loss Tree updates within a few minutes to display the most accurate list of top losses.

This quick identification of the biggest losses helps to guide daily actions and allocate resources to tackle the most pressing issues.
