Overview
The Manufacturing Copilot is an out-of-the-box, natural language interface that sits on top of the Sight Machine semantic layer. It is designed to satisfy the immediate need for "Chat with your Data" functionality without requiring custom machine learning development.
Who Uses It?
Plant Personnel: Operators, Engineers, and Line Supervisors.
Leadership & IT: Plant leadership and Manufacturer IT teams.
Partners: System Integration (SI) partners.
How It Works
The Copilot converts natural language queries into system-understandable commands to retrieve and summarize data.
Semantic Layer Access: It queries the "AI-ready" data foundation to ensure context-aware responses.
Analytic Capabilities: Supports basic summaries, aggregations, descriptive statistics, and lightweight tests like t-tests (e.g., comparing today’s process to yesterday’s).
Guardrails: To prevent hallucinations, the Copilot is programmed to decline questions it cannot answer using its validated skill set.
Example Use Cases
Quality & Trends: "How’s my quality today?" or "How’s my downtime trending this week?".
Process Comparison: "What’s different about how my line is running today?".
Drill-downs: Engaging in multi-question flows to isolate specific data points.
Delivery & Training
Accessibility: Deployed out-of-the-box via a web chat interface or Microsoft 365 (Teams/Excel).
Ease of Use: Designed to be as intuitive as ChatGPT.
Customization: Can be tuned using a "System Prompt" to align with specific site terminology.
