Centerline Comparison Tool

Overview

The centerline comparison tool evaluates current machine performance against a historical baseline to identify deviations from established centerlines.

This tool outputs all tags within the selected asset(s) and displays averages based on applied data filters. By comparing tag averages from the centerline window (historical period) to the analysis window (current period), the tool highlights variance in real-time operations.

How to use it?

Access the "Centerline Comparison" custom analytic. Use the side picker on the left to define specific criteria and formulate the analysis.

Analysis Options

  1. Model: Select the required model.

  2. Assets: Select the relevant assets.

  3. Fields: Select specific fields for analysis (or choose "Select All").

  4. Sort by: Use this feature to organize centerline variables by:

    1. STDev Diff: Standard Deviation Difference from the centerline.

    2. % Diff: Percent Difference from the centerline.

    3. Abs Diff: Absolute Difference from the centerline.

  5. LCL/UCL Sigma: Adjust the control limit sigma (the default setting is 3 Sigma).

Analysis Window Configuration

  1. Analysis Window: Select the timeframe for comparison against the established centerline (e.g., current data from the last 60 minutes).

  2. Add Filter: Apply specific filters to the analysis window to isolate relevant data points for the comparison.

Upon clicking “Update”, you will receive the following results on your page.

  • Displays the process area, tag names, descriptions

  • Displays the Centerline Window results

  • Displays the comparison of the Analysis Window to the Centerline Window. It provides:

    • Analysis Average

      • Turns red if it’s outside the LCL/UCL

    • Stdev Difference from Centerline

    • % Difference from Centerline

    • Absolute Difference from Centerline
